Gastown’s Carall Street is slowly being transformed into an Irish theme park. It was bad enough when the Brickyard announced that it was closing its doors in January, taking yet another venue for live acts in Vancouver off the streets. But now, in its place, we have Limerick Junction, yet another Irish pub on the same two block stretch as The Blarney Stone, The Irish Heather, The Salty Tongue Deli, and Shebeen Irish Whiskey House.
Hopefully the Brickyard’s transformation into an Irish pub with a sports centric bent will last as long as the Picadilly Pubs pathetic attempt at recreating Coyote Ugly.
