My eyes are up here I went down to Portland to check out the Chromatics’ new line up (with Johnny Jewel from G. Candy ) and it was pretty bad-ass. Shirts have been unbuttoned in the name of sex appeal and the songs will hypnotise you into a dream-like state where you unbutton your shirt too.

Language is OK played at Pat’s and it was a bunch of people making a bunch of sounds. Jeremy told me that the band is open for anyone to join. He works at Audiopile, so go tell him your amazing vision for the next show.

The Nons played what was at once their best and worst show ever on the 13th. Hopefully Sadie won’t be so wasted (or at least get wasted to the point of puking on the audience or something crazy) when they play Kids Party Fun Party on May 27. From what I gather on Myspace it’s some sort of growing-up-in-the-‘80s-with-‘80s-toys-and-shit theme party.

Also on the 27th, the Rogers Sisters will play at the Media Club. I think it will be worth seeing. Though their new material doesn’t seem as rad as their old stuff–which was potentially some of the best music I’ve ever heard in my whole entire life.
And as far as the worst music I’ve ever heard in my whole entire life goes: I just realised that the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs sounds exactly like Belly. Exactly.

There’s a benefit for the Music Waste Festival on May 20, where I’m going to play drums in Bakelite for the first time ever in front of people. I know I’m going to fuck up so harsh. Don’t tell my band mates, I told them I’d be cool. But it’ll be rad to see Basketball, which consists of Tome and Luke, who were once in Raking Bombs. And Winning is always a jerky/jaggedy kind of a pleasure. Seriously fucking come to Pat’s that night.

I kind of feel like Music Waste has been holding me by the shoulders and shaking me jerkily for the past month, but I’m way excited for it to actually happen. You fuckers better come out June 1 – 4 or I won’t speak to you all summer.

And have fun at the Liars show on the 9th. Jerks.
