Puddle of Mudd, the multi-platinum selling rock band from Kansas, will open for Nickleback tonight at GM Place. Sorry, what? You don’t remember Puddle of Mudd? Well here’s a little reminder of what earns a band a chart-topping single in America. Peep these lines from their 2002 break out hit She Hates Me:
Met a girl, thought she was grand/ Fell in love, found out first hand/ Went well for a week or two/ Then it all came unglued
Like a depressed onion wrapped in a flaky skin of pain and self-doubt. Just try and peel the layers of lyrics like that. No! Don’t! You would only cry tears of confusion. Forever wondering, do they fall for the sadness revealed from what I’ve exposed? Or from peeling this onion? Asking such questions could only bring you a fraction of the sorrow it took to write such poetry.
They were scheduled to play at the Commodore tonight, but after catching wind of the “Pudds” appearance in Vancouver, and not to be overshadowed, Nickleback likely begged them to open at the “garage”. A few fans weren’t so happy about the move. One fan, only known as droovin, lamented that he or she was “just a little pissed” and went on further to express his or her anguish:
Man….what a huge dissapointment….change of venue and playing with nicklecrap….I was really stoked about the idea of seeing this show in a smaller venue….maybe one day you guys can shoot thru town and play a smaller gig…..having to ask for a refund on my ticket sucked ass!
No, “droovin”, you sucked ass!
