Will October End in Race Wars??:

“Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers,” Palin said.

“Boooo!” said the crowd.

“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” she continued.

“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.

“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.

October is going to be the craziest month ever. We are a fifth of the way through, and less than one month away from the election. The economy is going out of control, bloggers are getting fired, and a black man is on the cusp of becoming president… Kill him. That’s where we’re going right now. Kill him.

Some people are racists. Not all the people, not lots of people, but some. They exist. The prospect of a black man being their commander in chief must really be setting in right about now. What was merely surreal and abstract is now becoming extremely possible, if not probable, if not inevitable. It must scare the crap out of them.

Take the anger and fear that rushes through your head when you imagine Sarah Palin being in charge of this country. That’s how they feel about Obama. It’s irrational and based in bullshit, but it’s every bit as real. If McCain were up by 6-8 points with this many days left until the election, I’d be spending my time figuring out where to move and when. But the racists of this country aren’t going anywhere. Just like Palin used to, they don’t own a passport. They’re staying right here. Basically, this shit is about to get crazy.

Think about that. Think about where the argument McCain and Palin are making will take this country. Think about what “palling around with terrorists” really means in a post-9/11 America. It’s fucked. October is about to get nice and fucked.
